Let’s Welcome Tony Kester As Interim Director

July 3rd, 2008

I am pleased to announce that Tony Kester who has served as the Deputy Director of Administration for the Office on Aging since August of 2004 has agreed to serve as Interim Director during our search for a replacement for Curtis Loftis.

I feel that Tony is a strong choice as Interim Director as he has a great deal of experience in both administration and the aging network.  Tony has 32 years of experience in state government, having worked for the last six governors.  He was instrumental in helping them transition into office and keeping those offices running smoothly during and between administrations as Director of Administration.

Tony is an old hat to the aging network, playing a key role in bringing the State Office on Aging under the Governor’s Office during restructuring and then overseeing the transfer to the Office of the Lt. Governor a few years later.

I think it goes without saying that we have been doing great things for seniors through the Office on Aging and I know that with Tony’s leadership there is more to come.

Thanks again for stepping up to the plate Tony, I look forward to working with you.
